So, we've been pretty quiet on Green Jello for awhile now.  Yeah, still working on the updated site....blech.  But all of our Easter stuff is 30% off this weekend, so make sure you check that out.

WHAT I REALLY WANT TO TELL YOU is that there's a superbly awesome blog associated with the 1940 Census Community Project.

In case you haven't heard about the 1940 Census Community Project - it's this HUGE volunteer based project to index all the information from the 1940 U.S. Census.  All the cards and pictures and papers have been scanned, and now tons and tons of people are taking time to index that information so that it can be searched globally through the internet and genealogy databases.

I took some time away from working on our site to index some records.  IT WAS SO EASY.  Seriously.  Piece of cake.  And kind of fun.

The 1940 Census Blog is lots of fun too.  Because they talk about famous people who are going to be in the census (like Walt Disney).  And they give you information about how to index and how the software works, and all that.

But best of all, the 1940 Census Blog is killer cool because once I wrote an article for it.  And hopefully more of my articles will be there too.  Sweet, right?  (yeah, I KNOW!)

So yeah, check out the blog, comment on a few posts, share it on facebook, sign up for the feed, and get the software so you can help index a piece of history!
